World Book Day
Students take up The Big Read challenge for World Book Day!
For World Book Day 2021, we ran an exciting project called The Big Read, asking students to do as much reading as possible over half term and in the run-up to World Book Day on Thursday 4th March.
We have had some brilliant responses to this challenge, with students submitting pictures of the books they have been reading and their Reading Journals, which are part of the school planner. Form teachers have been very impressed by the submissions they have received and interested in their students’ choice of reading materials, which include the Britannia series by Simon Scarrow, World’s Worst Parents by David Walliams and Holes by Louis Sachar.
We would like to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the following students for their excellent contributions to the challenge:
Grace – Year 9, Lucy – Year 9, Ellie – Year 9, Owen – Year 10 and Ethan – Year 10.
Well done and thank you to all involved in The Big Read. Click on the ‘Berwick Reads’ link at the top of the page for more information on Reading at Berwick Academy.
