Activities Week 2023

From Monday 17th July to Thursday 20th July, we will run a number of activities to reward students for their hard work this year.  Students will be offered a choice of activities, including day trips and activities in school.  Some of these activities will be free of charge and some will require a charge towards the cost of the trip.  I will write to you again soon with details of the activities on offer and you will be asked to choose the activities that your child would like to take part in.

Activities will be allocated on a first come first serve basis, although places on activities where there is a cost incurred will be provisional until the balance is settled.

I wanted to highlight to you that these activities are intended to be a reward, therefore students will not be permitted to participate if they do not consistently meet our expectations of being on time, on side and on task.  If your child has not met these expectations so far this year, I will write to you separately to notify you of this, and they will be given a period of time to improve their conduct before a final decision is made regarding their participation.  All students not taking part in activities will be expected to attend lessons.

Greenpower Car Club

The Green Power car is a part built electric powered racing car that we aim to rebuild and ultimately race against other schools and colleges from around the UK and the rest of the world. Events take part at race circuits throughout the UK. We are also hoping to secure a second, brand new car that will arrive in kit form.

Ultimately there will be a chance to build the cars, learn about the construction methods and control systems, learn about car set up and handling characteristics and ultimately learn how to drive the car! The club will be open to all year groups. Please see Home | Greenpower for more information.

The club runs from 3.15 to 4.15 in D3.  Club dates for the Autumn term are:

Thursday 21st September

Thursday 5th October

Thursday 19th October

Thursday 9th November

Thursday 23rd November

Thursday 7th December
