Berwick Academy Library

Wednesday 6th October 2021

The library has been a hive of activity in the new term, as we have been able to open our doors more widely to students.

Berwick Academy Library is open daily to students wishing to borrow a book, do some quiet reading, or have a conversation with Ms McFadden about what they would like to read next.

Students wishing to attend the library can book their slot by speaking to their form teacher or Ms McFadden, who will provide them with a library pass.

New Berwick Academy Library Opens!

October 2021

After our very successful library campaign school year, we are delighted to announce that the new Berwick Academy Library has opened to students and staff.

In the Autumn Term, we have been able to open in a carefully-managed way to allow our students to borrow books safely. Library inductions have been run for students, giving them the opportunity to have a guided tour, to borrow books and to sign up for their library loyalty card.

The library is bursting with books to inspire, engage and inform our young people, with the Teen Fiction, Sci-Fi & Fantasy and Adventure sections proving particularly popular

We very much look forward to being able to offer exciting events to support our mission of engaging as many students as possible in reading when our school is fully re-open. In the meantime, the Berwick Reads project continues with virtual Reading Registrations and the continuation of our Virtual Readathon, which was introduced for students at the start of the first lockdown.

We continue to build our library stock and would be delighted to hear from you if you have any unwanted books that might be suitable for our library. If you would like to speak to us about this, please contact the school.
